For most of my childbearing
years I have been charting my cycles to determine my fertile days and avoid
conception. About 24 years of charts. At
44 years old, I should be reaching the end of the road pretty soon, but I’m still charting.
At this point I am mostly interested in
finding an easy and effective home remedy for menstural migranes and have been experimenting with over the
counter topical hormones; bioidentical estrogen,
progesterone, and DHEA and testosterone.
New research showing
that the Vaginal Ring Contraceptive May Ease Migraine
"This product [vaginal ring contraceptive] has been
found to completely and effectively prevent ovulation, thereby preventing the
attendant ovulatory spike in estradiol that represents the highest natural
estrogen exposure encountered in healthy nonpregnant women," the authors
note. "It also prevents the subsequent sustained estrogen surge of the
luteal phase, whose abrupt decline precipitates [menstrual migraine]."
